Today I hypothetically pitch an article to INH HQ, or Insert Name Here Hair Headquarters, to be publish on the brand's blog on their website, www.inhhair.com. This blog was written for academic purposes.

Fashion Feature Media Pitch: INH HQ
Part 1: Media Outlet Profile
The INH HQ, or “Insert Name Here Hair Headquarters,” is the internal blog for the brand famously known for its synthetic, clip-in ponytails. INH Hair reached mainstream success with their collaboration with Ariana Grande’s Vogue Performance of “In My Head,” where the singer featured a 38-inch synthetic ponytail named “Ariana” in her honor. Their blog publishes typically four to five blog posts each month on all things hair, whether it be “the latest on our launches, hair how-tos, hair care education, hair trends, and expert advice.” (INH HQ) From microtrends to cosplay costumes, the INH HQ blog integrates its hair products into various fashion aesthetics so that consumers can find exactly who they want to be or who they could become — hence the namesake “Insert Name Here,” where every product has its own name and personality.
INH HQ’s reader base is primarily composed of INH consumers, brand loyalists, and curious potential customers that found their blog through SEO. While the brand’s generation demographics are primarily Millenials and Gen Z, their consumers are united in their love of confidence and inclusivity. As evident through their INH Babe Facebook Group, the brand has a cult following that loves coming up with new, creative ideas to compliment their synthetic hair ponytails, wigs, hair extensions, and more. Providing insightful blog content on their website not only attracts new consumers to their website but also allows new and returning customers to have suggestions and explanations on how to use their products. The readers, therefore, would need quick, easy, and fun blog posts that anticipate current micro-trends in the fashion and beauty industry. Some of their consumers’ interests include recreating a celebrity’s signature look and dressing up in costumes for holidays and cosplay through beauty, hair, and fashion.
The article I would like to write would be a nostalgic tribute to the iconic tween magazines of the late 2000s - early 2010s. This would align with the brand’s mission to be flexible for every micro-trend in fashion, especially the Y2K aesthetic currently popular among Gen Zs and Gen As. A nostalgic, J-14-esque feature didactically describing how to choose the best short haircut for your face would not only be evergreen content for the brand, but would also be perfect for search engine optimization. Since it is a common consideration for a haircut, INH would not only provide advice but offer an alternative to making a bold change. With their wig range offering a wide variety of options, the products are innately integrated into the advice that the reader is searching for. Practicing writing different articles, or blog posts, such as these would help position me, an influencer and community strategist, as well-informed and versatile to different advertising mediums, as many underestimate the effectiveness of blogs.
Part 2: Sample Article
“I cut my hair to look like Selena Gomez — here’s how to do it right.”
By Gracie Gilchriest

It’s 2011. The September issue of J-14 just came out, and Selena Gomez is rocking the latest trendy hairstyle: the bob. I grab the scissors and hack away — at the magazine, of course — as my mom calls for me to accompany her hair appointment. I giddily admire the magazine clipping, ready to end the battle of the side bangs.
It’s not 2011 anymore, but with many of us growing out our 2020 bangs or baby hairs, a bob is a classic for many hair types, textures, and facial structures. Not only is it easy to maintain, but it is versatile in the ways you can stylize, accessorize, and glamourize with your favorite INH pony. Recreating your favorite celebrity’s hairstyle may not be an exact science, but there are tips and tricks to find what suits you best. Here’s how to choose the right bob for you — even if you don’t want to cut your hair. ;)
Identify your face shape.

The key to the classic cut is ensuring it frames your face well. Take a selfie straight on and look at your bone structure. How strong is your jawline? How defined are your cheekbones? Your chin? Is your face longer or more round? There is an abundance of fruits to compare to, but it is important to look at your bone structure. What features do you want to accentuate? What style makes you feel confident?
If you have an oval-shaped face, like Jordynn, or a rectangle-shaped face, like Jeremy, consider a diagonal cut so the hair framing your face is longer. The extra length helps with symmetry and gives you the freedom to volumize when styling your hair. Don’t worry, your best girlfriend, Poppy, has done it all for you — with time before 11:59 so you can make it all yours.
If you have a heart-shaped face, like Sharon, or a triangle-shaped face like Shakira, an even bob provides bounce and volume. Curling under at the bottom of your hair adds to the sweetheart look. With the flexibility of your face shape, Henny’s romantic bangs and curls can sweep anyone off their feet.
If you have a rounder face, like Katrina, a lob (long bob) frames all the angles, from your facial structure down to your décolleté. The extra inches elongate your face and have more opportunities to style with curls or waves, which is the Insert Waves Here heat tool’s specialty. If your inner e-girl can’t beat the heat, Natalia is prepped and primed for a good time.
The next time you’re admiring your favorite celebrity’s new do, check out their bone structure to see what features stand out. Whether working with a hairstylist or styling yourself, emphasizing the features that bring out your confidence is the key to success. While you may not be able to create an exact replica of your 2011 magazine clipping, the extra adjustments accentuate your unique beauty, babe.
